using integrated manual physical therapy

to untangle your pain, so you can move

to connect with what nourishes you!

Are you are struggling with some kind of pain?

It might be new pain, from a recent injury, surgery, or infection. Or it might be old pain, and now you don’t even know where it came from.

Is this pain wearing you down? Are you exhausted from seeing practitioner after practitioner with no results? Not even Google is giving you answers to explain why it hurts so much?

I get it.

“I don’t know what to tell you, but all the tests were normal,” the doctor said to me. Tears streamed down my face as I left yet another specialist’s office. My constant headache still didn't have an answer as to what was causing it or why it wouldn’t go away.

First it was headaches, then it was skin rashes and weird cuts in strange places, then pain in other seemingly random parts of my body. The same story over and over again. Me sitting in the office, healthy by all the standard measures except one: I was still in pain.

As a physical therapist, I think structurally, and I knew there had to be a reason for my pain, even if Google had no answers.

I broke down the anatomy and worked my way through each system of the body, understanding how it all fit together to untangle my own pain.

I don’t cry when I leave doctor’s offices anymore.

let me help you

I specialize in pain that is complicated, multilayered, and may have resisted other treatments.

I focus on manual therapy techniques to address your dysfunctional mechanics, while integrating somato-emotional release and energy techniques.

Wherever there is pain, there is some part of you somewhere that is stuck. There are lots of places you might be stuck, and since everything is all connected, it’s not always the place that hurts.

frequently asked questions

+ Where are you located, what are your hours, and what is your fee?

I am located in Natick, Massachussetts, on the Wellesley line. I see clients Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. The fee is $185 for the hour-long evaluation, $150 for hour-long follow ups, and $75 for 30 minute pediatric folow ups. I do not take insurance. I can give you a receipt that has all the information you need to submit a claim to your insurance company on your own. Check your policy to verify your specific out of network benefits. I can also give you a receipt if you are submitting to a Flexible Spending Account/ Health Savings Account.

+ What are one to one sessions like?

One on one sessions are one hour, done in a private room, clothed, lying on your back with a pillow under your knees. Since the onset of COVID19, both the client and I wear masks. The only exception is when the client removes the mask for the mouth work techniques some dysfunctions require. There is usually classical music playing softly in the background. Sometimes the sessions are quiet, sometimes we talk during the session. At the end of each session, I review what we worked on and any steps to support yourself while you adjust to the new mechanics. You can learn more about the techniques I use on the services page.

+ Can you help me? I have a (fill in the blank) problem.

The bulk of my clients are struggling with: headaches/migraines, concussions, vertigo, TMJ, neck pain, infant torticollis/ plagiocephaly, back pain, sacroiliac/ pelvic pain that does not need internal work, Lyme disease/ tic born illnesses, to name just a few. I see people of all ages, from babies in the womb, newborns and on up. I create a safe space for people from all walks of life to heal. If your issue is outside of those boxes, usually the answer is “I can try and we will see how far we get.”

+ Will you give me lots of exercises? My last PT gave me so many I couldn't keep up./ I am looking for someone to create a gym program for me.

No. I subscribe to philosophy of less is more. I give only three take home strategies per session. I find if I give you more than that, it either flares up your pain or is too overwhelming to work into everyday life. I am not the person to see if you want a full body work out program designed for you.

+ Do you do lymphatic bandaging? I just had surgery and need lymph massage with bandaging.

No. I do not do lymphatic bandaging.

+ What if I don’t “believe” this will work?/ How will I know if it’s working?/ How long before I feel better?

My work is very mechanical and structural, and therefore, “believing” in any of the techniques is not a requirement for your body to change. If something is stuck, and I help it move, it will feel different. Clients usually feel some kind of change within the first three sessions, often even after the first session. Ultimately, we are looking for decreased frequency or duration of pain, increased function, and improved mechanics. Depending on your individual situation, the time to feel better ranges from a few sessions to a few months.

+ I heard something about you training for the zombie apocalypse. What's that story?

I went through a weird phase where I was doing all the things that would help me help my family survive the zombie apocalypse. I took up running (because I just had to be faster than the person next to me), I taught myself to knit (in case there was no electricity and I couldn’t use my sewing machine, and we needed clothes and things I could barter for food), I learned axe throwing (so that I could defend myself against the zombies), and learned a little herbal medicine and outdoor first aid in case I needed to help anyone who got injured while we were fleeing from the zombies. I don’t know why I framed it in terms of surviving zombies, I think it was a weird way to channel my anxiety about, well, surviving all the things. Funny enough, it actually helped. I’m not so anxious anymore, and I can now do some really cool things.
